PARK DISTRICT'S ALL OVER HAVE IMMEDIATE OPENINGS FOR OFFICIAL'S TO WORK AS INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS/EMPLOYEE'S TO OFFICIATE BOYS/GIRLS BASKETBALL FROM 1ST - 12TH GRADE.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Two persons are used to officiate boys/girls youth basketball. Official's will be in charge of all aspects of the game. One person will be assigned the position of referee and the other umpire. The official's are required to maintain control of the game, use good judgment, able to make the appropriate call(s) and maintain a professional appearance and attitude. The safety of the player's is and important role of the official and must be observed at all times. Officials are required to report to their assignments at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the game. 

QUALIFICATIONS: · Knowledge of the game of basketball (Helpful but not required) · Must be responsible · Must enjoy working with children · Must be of sound mind, good character and able to make quick decisions · No experience needed · Must attend various mandatory training classes · Must have own black/white striped shirt, whistle, black pants and black shoes (non- marking soles)
